Pre-School & Kindergarten Welcome Scholarships
For the third year, the CEF is happy to offer Welcome Tuition Scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year! There will be 250, $1000 tuition scholarships available to incoming preschool and kindergarten students. To be eligible, the student(s) must be the first child in their immediate family to attend a Catholic school. Each family must complete an application at https://catholicbestchoice.org/affordability. These scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
EdChoice
Our school is officially listed by the State of Ohio as an EdChoice Provider. EdChoice is a scholarship program. There are two kinds of EdChoice scholarships: Traditional and Expansion.
At the K-8 level, Traditional EdChoice scholarships are given to students who currently attend a public school designated by the state as "underperforming." They are also given to students entering kindergarten who are assigned by the state to a public school designated as "underperforming."
EdChoice Expansion scholarships are awarded to students from families with lower incomes. There are qualifying criteria. A family can look at these criteria and determine their eligibility. A key feature of the Expansion scholarship: students currently enrolled at QP can apply. This is not the case with Traditional EdChoice.
If you plan to apply for an EdChoice Scholarship, it is a good idea to do so on the very first day the application window opens. There is not an infinite number of scholarships, so the earlier the better. Scholarships are essentially awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. The prospect of running out of scholarships has not been an issue in previous years. But, with a dramatic increase in the number of schools on the "underperforming" list, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) is expecting a spike in the number of scholarship applicants.
Also, important EdChoice forms will be available on the ODE website .
